2 Thessalonians 1:9-10. from His presence and glory of His power

"These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed".

When Jesus answered the guard in the garden, "I am He", the guards were literally blown away, off their feet. Why? Because they were delivered onto them the living Word, Jesus Christ Himself. In the presence of the Lord, destruction will follow for those who have rejected Jesus. The word "everlasting" is striking, for it means, lasting forever; eternal, never coming to an end. "In that Day", is the day of judgment for the unbeliever. Not so for the one who has believed on the Lord of Lords, who will look upon in admiration on his savior for all eternity.

Genesis 6:5-6 ..evil all the time.

"The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain."

The continual and uninterupted state of man...and woman is evil all the time. Our works are as filthy rages before a Holy God, and yet we carry on as though we deserve a praise worthy pat on the back. Our destiny is for destruction and that is all we deserve. There is no comparing this current generation to Noah's time. It is monumental in scope. God's hand of judgment is stayed momentarily and His pain abated only because of the finished work of His Son on the cross. Judgment will be richly deserved for those who spurn the cross of the blessed Christ of God, for it is the reward granted for a life squandered away.

Matthew 24:3-14. ..then the end will come..

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him
privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be
the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Signs:
1) Deception
2) Rumors of wars
3) Nation against nation
4) Famines, earthquakes, etc
5) Persecution of believers
6) Denial of the faith, hatred for one another
7) False prophets
8) Increasing wickedness turns love cold. Stand firm and you will be saved. Gospel preached worldwide, then the end will come.

The events which the Lord Jesus orders cannot be denied with todays reality. We can choose to ignore this sobering truth and thus eventuality or embrace it as confirming the fact that the end is itself a sign of the new beginning for those who have been called. Darkness always comes before the light and a kernal must die before it can produce life. Accepting these simple truthes sets the believer apart to leave fear before the throne of the one who allows all things to happen for the good. For the believer, death is the gateway to eternal existence with his creator.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 Be happy, but be warned

"You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment." God gives us the freedom to experience the joys of life, but with that freedom comes responsibility. Do not be negligent and take for granted God's goodness. Do not make the mistake and confuse this goodness with approval of all you do. It is wise to remember that your end may come before the end times. Not knowing when that will be, one should always be mindful of the consequences of their decision and the judgment that results from each one of them.

Romans 2:5-6. Storing up wrath

"But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God will repay each person according to what they have done...". Isn't God patient? Looking down through the ages one can easily see this. But there will come a day when he will call his children home. A stubborn and unrepentant heart can only go on for so long. God gives us that freedom, only because on His grace. His wrath is stayed for a reason, and we do not know for why or for how long. Some question God's goodness and love. Yet, how can one not see His love for us in allowing us so much time to finally come to Him and surrender our lives. To store up wrath means that on the day of judgment, you will receive your reward, but it won't be for the good you have done on your own. The only good that is acceptable to God, is the finished work of Jesus Christ. This is rejected by many as they distain it as coming from something they can not experience from their senses. Or because it is too simple to believe yet God's word says, "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved". Acts 16:31 ...

Hebrew 9:27. Death and Judgment

"It is appointed unto man once to die, than the judgment". Death is something all know to be true. There is no denying it. Not only does the bible say it, we can confirm this to be accurate all around us. The question many wonder, but have no proof of is where do we go when we die? The bible clearly says we will all be judged. This, for all the things we have thought, done and said. To be judged assumes that something will follow based on the results of that judgment. For the intellect, the challenge here is, how does one rationalize the truth of death, yet not accept that judgment will follow? To accept death is to accept judgment. To accept judgment is to accept the results of what will follow. The further one delves down this road, they eventually find themselves face to face with God himself, the final Judge. He is the rightous judge and His judgment is final. If that is a life without forgiveness of sin, than to hell you go. If it is a life of forgiveness from sin, than heaven is your destiny. And only accepting his son Jesus Christ as savoir will deliver you from your sins. John 3:16

Commentaries

Following will be short commentaries on bible verses related to the end times and how we should prepare. Nothing more need be discussed as we are drawing ever closer to that day and time is short.
